The early Elvis Costello, perhaps; the Sex Pistols, as an example of a contrasting approach.
Alienation is a common theme in modern rock; but Freifeld handles it unusually well. In his narrative world, life sucks; but his lyrics excel at explaining what sucks about it. The music is very well-crafted, and complements the mood of the lyrics. This is a much more lyrical and sophisticated approach to alienation than punk rock, which is the genre often thought of as the epitome of that particular theme. (email@example.com)

Hard to pinpoint. This is far from classic ectophilic music, but it is superb of its kind. I highly recommend it on its own merits. For those heavily into ecto ethereality, it will be an interesting change of pace. (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Mark Freifeld--vocals, acoustic guitar, electric guitar
James Cory--bass guitar, drum programming, synthesizers, keyboards
