Comments:

This is an album of Scottish folk music, mostly traditional songs, and the majority in Gaelic. There are a few songs in English, which I don't like nearly as much as the others, and also a short piece of mouth music. Mairi MacInnes voice is excellent: very full and powerful, with good range, but also capable of a lot of delicacy. Her renditions of this music are excellent. (kosky@saul.cis.upenn.edu)

Further info:

Mairi MacInnes has worked with: Martin Swan's Mouth Music on their "Green Door/Blue Sea" CD single; the North Wales Llangwm male voice choir; and the Glasgow Gaelic Choir on the Gaelic Women compilation.
