General comments:

Royal Wood's style is fanciful and ornate, like Rufus Wainwright's. His voice is equally elastic and kind of like Jeff Buckley's as well. (stjarnell@yahoo.com)

Comments:

A very pleasant ep that has echoes of the pre-rock'n'roll era's songwriting. Royal Wood has a lot in common with Rufus Wainwright. Vocally he soars like Jeff Buckley.
"Chamomile" is a jaunty, carefree song that sounds very english. "Freezing in Fire" has a very Buckley-esque vocal. "Off My Sleeve" is a poignant ballad. Some of Wood's love for Randy Newman shows clearly here. Royal Wood (is that his real name?) has made a perfect start to his career and is destined for great things. (stjarnell@yahoo.com)
