My fave music is indie-alternative (although I also love world/ethnic, jazz and classical).

In the indie-alternative vein I tend to favor female vocalists (Happy Rhodes, Cocteau Twins, Dead Can Dance, Jane Siberry, Veda Hille, Lida Husik, Rasputina) but I also like distinctive male voices (David Sylvian, Billy Mackenzie, Brian Ferry) and interesting male/female juxtapositions (Seely, Ida, His Name Is Alive, Velour 100). And I tend to prefer indie labels like 4AD, Too Pure, Tooth and Nail, and Bedazzled. Even though I'm into the goth/darkwave/ethereal thing pretty heavily, I haven't found the Projekt band to really grab me (although if asked to pick one I'd pick Love Is Colder Than Death). My fave goth/darkwave band is The Changelings, based in Atlanta, where I now make my home.

I'd love to hear from folks who think they're on my wavelength musically, for tape trades and chat.
