A kind of indierock fusion of Sleater-Kinney and Tori Amos. (Neile)

General comments:

Josette's Eye is a kind of indierock fusion of Sleater-Kinney and Tori Amos. Intriguing enough to really catch my interest and become a minor obsession for me. A muddy, moody darkish kind of sound. Poetic, allusive lyrics full of hooks. (Neile)

Recommended first album:

Alibi Clock was their only full album

Recordings:

Alibi Clock (1998) was their only full-length recording. They also did 3(?) singles/eps

Comments:

Josette's Eye is a great, moody altpop/rock band with Tori-esque sensibilities and vocals. Only piano on 1 track. Alibi Clock even has a song about a woman listening to a guy's reaction to Tori which has lots of references to her "I've got an antichrist of my own" "she should have stayed silent a few more years...." I really like the album. Some spoken word pieces that I don't enjoy quite as much as the songs, but overall a strong debut album. "Copping John Lennon" is particularly haunting. Recommended. (Neile)
