Comparisons:

Shares some similarity with other world groups who do percussive music. Some similarities to parts of Zap Mama's and Sweet Honey in the Rock's repertoire.

Traditional and own

General comments:

Rich, rich group vocals and harmonies. This group does their own lively and percussive interpretations of music from West Africa, the Middle East, Afro-Cuba, and of their own composition. (sophiagurley@hotmail.com)

Comments:

This is a fine collection of songs from Brazil, Spain, Ghana, Colombia, Cuba, Turkey, Serra Leone, Ghana, Israel, and the USA. The geographic diversity in the music is unified by the lively choral vocal style and percussive backgrounds. This energetic, heartfelt music, full of lovely turns of phrase and harmonies, sometimes boisterous, sometimes yearning, will be a treasure for those seeking out diverse music and female vocals.
